Cats, cats, and more cats. What is it that causes us humans to have such an obsession with them? There are many factors at play here, like how drop dead adorable kittens are. But yea, another factor at play is scientific research that suggests we can't help it due to a brain parasite called toxoplasmosis. It is said that world wide 1/3 of people are infected. Research on this parasite suggests that this is what attracts us to them. Another factor at play, is the major feral cat problem world wide, cats are one of the most destructive invasive species on world ecosystems. They kill everything in sight, hunting at night in the countryside or city, and they are making certain species of birds face extinction.
Me personally, I don't own any cats, but I do like them. Actually, I never owned a cat before, when I was younger their fur would cause me to have major allergies irritating my eyes and nose. One thing that I saw online in the crypto space that caught my eye was crypto kitties on the Ethereum block chain. It's basically a currency that you can trade, but it's very unique in the sense that you can breed the crypto kitties to create new ones, and the more rare their genetic traits are the more they sell for. I don't hear much buzz about them in 2024, but these things were selling for thousands of dollars, some even selling for six figures.

You also see cats in popular media like kids cartoons, movies, etc etc. Just off hand I can think of 2 popular cats that everyone knows.
The cat in the hat, we remember him from helping us learn how to read while rhyming.
And next we have hello kitty, the Japanese white kitten that is very popular in American media, especially toys.
One thing that really shocked me was, seeing cats have their own islands in japan. It literally is like a sci-fi experience, but yes, cats in japan have their own islands where they are worshiped by the locals and tourists. Last but not least lets get to fashion, and how they have influenced the industry. Well I was searching online and I came across Nicky Hilton’s smash box set.
you can clearly see that it was influenced by cats by design of the hand bag. So yea, cats are everywhere. She also has some clothes that are influenced by cats as well

So like I said earlier, I never owned a cat before because of my cat allergy problems in my youth. But they have gone away in my adult years, so I look forward to owning one soon. Maybe this year 2024 I will buy a cat. I’m just so busy right now in life, I don’t want to neglect the cat.
